Happy new year!
The 2006 season of University in the Pub is scheduled to commence at 7pm on Wednesday January 18th at the Stork Hotel, 504 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne (See: http://www.storkhotel.com/ or refer to the previous posting for past event details.) Our topic this month is: "C. S. Lewis and the Philosophy of Narnia". Special guest is RMIT University chaplain Robert Whalley (http://www.chaplinesque.blogspot.com).

Next month, at 7pm on Wednesday February 22nd, University in the Pub tackles the controversial topic of Intelligent Design. "What's so stupid about Intelligent Design?" is the title of this upcoming event which will be an official part of the inaugural "Melbourne Thinker's Week" festival. The venue is the Stork Hotel as usual and more details will be posted closer to the date.
What else is in store for 2006? Topics to be covered in future University in the Pub discussions will include botany, foul language, Google, the philosophy of food and fashion and an incomplete celebration marking the anniversary Kurt Gödel's birthday (that should be in April 2006).
